Browsing and searching

Public browsing does not require an account. Search text reaches our server so it can find directory matches. The site does not build political-interest profiles or sell search placement. Search terms are not intended to be retained in application logs.

Accounts

You can sign in with an email code or an available Google or Microsoft option. Choosing a social provider shares its basic account profile and email with our account service; WeTheDonors does not request access to your inbox, contacts, or documents. Necessary account information and contribution records are stored in the account service, with access restricted to your account and authorized operational roles.

Social sign-in does not verify citizenship, contribution eligibility, or authority over a candidate’s profile. Profile details do not make your account publicly visible.

Voice, files, and AI

With your permission, Google Gemini 3.8 Flash processes your chosen question and relevant public directory records, or your recording or document. These tools are for adults 18 and older. Do not provide identity documents, payment details, or another person's private information.

Google AI processing requires an approved paid billing project. Google's paid API terms exclude inputs and responses from product improvement, but permit limited safety and abuse-monitoring logs. Free API submissions have different data-use terms and are not enabled here. Google API data terms

WeTheDonors does not retain uploaded recordings or files in its own storage. Provider selection is explicit; a provider failure does not send your material to another company. AI tools are separate from donor verification. You can always use regular typed search instead.

Verification and payments

Approved verification providers receive required identity evidence. Ordinary account records retain verification outcomes and references, not an unrestricted collection of identity documents.

Payment details are entered with the approved payment provider. WeTheDonors does not store card numbers. Required political-finance records may be reported or disclosed under applicable rules.

Your controls

Your account provides data export and an account-closure request. Recurring support must be cancelled before closure. Some financial and compliance records may need to be retained after closure.

Service status

Features that require unconnected services remain unavailable. The final operator identity, active provider list, retention periods, and contact details must be published before public account and payment operations are enabled.
